The Microsoft Sound is the name for the default sound that is played when Microsoft Windows starts. Starting with Windows 3.1, the startup sound was a simple "tada" chord (tada.wav). By Windows 95 it was a more complex six-second sound written by Brian Eno (The Microsoft Sound.wav).
