Seattle Foundation
Seattle Foundation is the 20th largest community foundation in the United States,[1] serving the greater Seattle area. Established in 1946, it is the oldest and largest community foundation serving the Pacific Northwest,[2] with assets of more than $800 million and more than 1,200 contributing individuals and families.
Mission
Seattle Foundation's mission is to foster powerful and rewarding philanthropy to make King County a stronger, more vibrant community for all.[3]
Services
Under the leadership of its president and CEO Tony Mestres, Seattle Foundation offers an array of philanthropic services includes collective grant-making and mission investing. In 2013, the foundation awarded grants of more than $65 million.[4]
GiveBIG
Seattle Foundation's annual GiveBIG, a 24-hour online giving campaign designed to raise money for King County and Washington state nonprofit organizations, has raised more than $50 million for nearly 1,500 organizations since launching in 2011. [1] The next GiveBIG will take place May 3, 2016.
