Thea E. Smith is the president of the Columbia Music Company, which publishes sheet music for the classical guitar. Her first novel, She Let Herself Go, was published in 2002, and she has completed a second novel, Me, Myself, and Her.

Smith makes her home in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is the great-granddaughter of Arthur Powell Davis and the granddaughter of Sophocles Papas.
