Thimida Regia
Appearance
Thimida Regia is a former Roman city of the Roman province of Byzacena in North Africa (modern Tunisia).
The ancient town is identified with ruins at 36.640739n, 10.141835e,[1] south of the modern town of Tunis.
The town was the seat of an ancient Christian bishopric which flourished till the arrival of the Arab Armies in the 640s. That diocese survives today only as a titular bishopric of the Latin Catholic,[2][3] and has effectively ceased to function.[4][5] [6] The current bishop is Florencio Armando Colín Cruz of Mexico.
