Thounaojam Chaoba Singh is former Indian Union minister and Bharatiya Janta Party state president from Manipur.[1][2] From 1990 to 1997, he was part of the All India Congress Committee (Indira). In 1994, he became deputy chief minister of Manipur.[3] He was elected to the 11th Lok Sabha in 1996. In 1997, he became Congress Party state president. He was re-elected to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 and 13th Lok Sabha in 1999. In 1999, he became the Union Minister of State, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports.[3]
