Tieling High School (or Tieling Senior Middle School) (Chinese: 铁岭高中; pinyin: Tiělǐng Gāozhōng) is a provincial key senior high school located in Fanhe Town, Tieling. It currently has about 238[1] teachers and a thousand students for each grade. It's surrounded by several developing dwellings and Tieling Experimental School. It's known for the high graduate rate among Tieling citizens.
Campus
The new campus in Fanhe Town consists of three teaching buildings, a building dedicated for doing experiments and art education, an executive building, a dining hall and three dorms capable of housing a thousand individuals. Two of the teaching buildings have the same inner structure. The teaching building is attached to the experiment building.
Student life
Overview
Like all common high schools in Mainland China, students will spend three years to complete their curriculum. A military training last for a week will take place immediately after their enrollment. A year in the high school is consist of two semesters, each one lasts for half a year. The first semester starts in September, a sports meeting will be held in the same month if the conditions allow. The semester usually ends in January of the next year, however the ending time is differ in different grades. The second semester officially begins in March, and lasts approximately only 4 months for students preparing to take the National College Entrance Examination, which takes place on June 7, 8. For the other students, the semester will end in late July.
Extra-curricular classes
Typically, when the Ministry of Education doesn't emphasize the importance of stopping these tuitions, the teachers will actively arrange some tuition classes to earn extra wages. These classes are held outside the school, often away from school to avoid prosecution.
Graduation
Under common conditions, the student will graduate from the school after 3 years' full time study. The graduation generally holds on the day after the last scheduled study day. About 3 days before Gaokao.The 2018 ceremony was held in the school gymnasium. In the ceremony, the managers emphasize the achievements in the past three years and apologize for the strict rules enforced in the interval time. The headmaster then announces the number of the students in the grade who successfully completed study therefore fulfill the requirements for a student to graduate.
