Titus Vettius Scato
Appearance
Titus Vettius Scato (also Cato) was an Italian general of the Social War. He defeated Lucius Julius Caesar in battle before marching on and capturing Aesernia. He also defeated the other consul, Publius Rutilius Lupus, who died in battle against his forces. According to Seneca, he was captured by the Romans but was stabbed to death by his slave rather than face the ignominy of defeat.[1]
