David Anthony "Tony" Halmshaw ((1946-04-25)25 April 1946[2]) is an English former professional rugby league footballer of the 1970s and 1980s. He played at representative level for Great Britain, and at club level for Shaw Cross Sharks ARLFC[1][2], Halifax, Rochdale Hornets, and Castleford, as a loose forward/lock, i.e. number 13, during the era of contested scrums.

International honours

Tony Halmshaw won a cap for Great Britain while at Halifax in 1971 against New Zealand.[1]

Player's No.6 Trophy Final appearances

Tony Halmshaw played loose forward/lock in Halifax's 22-11 victory over Wakefield Trinity in the 1971–72 Player's No.6 Trophy Final during the 1971–72 season at Odsal Stadium, Bradford on Saturday 22 January 1972, and played loose forward/lock in Rochdale Hornets' 16-27 defeat by Warrington in the 1973–74 Player's No.6 Trophy Final during the 1973–74 season at Central Park, Wigan on Saturday 9 February 1974.
