Tony Stone is an American independent filmmaker. His notable works include the music video for R.E.M.'s "It Happened Today" (cinematography),[1] and the films Severed Ways (writer/director) and Out of Our Minds (writer/director).

He co-owns the Basilica Hudson performance space with his wife, musician Melissa Auf der Maur.[2]
