Location of Ubá within Minas Gerais

Ubá is a small tropical city in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. As of 2004 its population was estimated to be at around 94,584. Home of the famous Ubá mango ( Manga Ubá ), possibly the best mango in Brazil. Famous singer Nelson Ned and composer and radio man Ary Barroso were born in Ubá. Ubaenses, the term used to refer to those who live in Ubá, are typical Mineiros-- hard working, family oriented and very interested in preserving their cultural ties to Minas if they live away from their state, especially their culinary preferences.
