Uganda Insurance Commission

The Uganda Insurance Commission (UIC) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1996. According to its website, the mandate of the commission is "to supervise and regulate the insurance industry in Uganda." Commission offices are located in Kampala; the position of Commissioner of Insurance is currently vacant.

Activities

Responsibilities of the UIC include licensing of risk managers, loss assessors, loss adjusters, insurance surveyors and claims agents in Uganda.
