Metropolitan Brest (French: Brest Métropole) is the intercommunal structure gathering the city of Brest, in Brittany, and some of its suburbs.

History[edit]

The Urban Community was founded in 1973. On January 1, 2015, the Metropolitan community replaces the Urban Community in accordance with a law of January 2014.[1]

The Metropolitan Council consists of 70 members, one of them being the president, currently François Cuillandre, the mayor of Brest.
