Chief God'swill Obot Akpabio was born on 9th December, 1962[1] Akpabio is a Nigerian Lawyer and politician who is currently serving as the 15th president of the Nigerian senate since 2023.[2]
Background
[edit]God'swill Akpabio hail from Ukana, Ikot Ntuen, Essien Udim, southern region of Nigerian, Akwa Ibom State. He is married to Ekaette Unoma Akpabio.[1]
Education
[edit]Akpabio holds a degree in Law from University of Calabar.[1]
Political Career
[edit]Akpabio served as Senator representing Akwa Ibom State North-west Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019. He also served as Minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022, after he served as governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007 to 2015. Akpabio as a Senate President preceded by Ahmad Lawan.[3]
Political Party Affiliation
[edit]Akpabio is currently a member of All Progressives Congress (APC) from 2018 till date. Before he joined APC in 2018, he was ain People Democratic Party (PDP).[4]
