Preliminary info for Banbury vandal (aka JJGD, but I doubt he's the original account)

Intro[edit]

This is quite a mess, as the further back in various contribution logs I go, the more users I see editing, or vandalizing, the same sets of user pages. I'm unclear whether this is one user vandalizing a small group of editors' userpages, or a small ring of friends vandalizing each others' user pages. I've stopped trying to find new ones, for now, because many stopped editing a long time ago, and are surely stale for a Checkuser, so the cost of digging further outweighs any benefit. For example, it appears User:Mootoog is either one of them, or was driven off the project by them. JJGD appears to be, for example, User:Noob101, and User:Nibbo2, who were harrassing Mootoog and editing Noface1's user page back in 2007.

The vandal(s) and apparent victims/cohorts/whatever all appear to share an interest in Banbury, leading me to slightly favor the "ring of vandals" theory over the "group of editors harrassed by a vandal" theory.

I also note that accounts that later "go bad" and start vandalizing/harassing others start out making a significant number of good edits. Also, I've seen a couple of times editors who I beleive to be socks "warning" other editors who I believe to be socks, so I'm concerned this person is trying, with some of his accounts, to look legit, possibly for a future adminship run (admittedly unsubstantiated for now, but a definite gut feel). If any legit account names pop up when a checkuser is run, I'd be somewhat reluctant to assume right off they were unrelated, without close scrutiny of their edits.
