Inspector Dilpreet Singh, Ludhiana Punjab India Honorable Officer Of Punjab Police Ludhiana, Punjab, India Born on 20 August 1973, Dilpreet Singh has been dedicate serving as a police officer in Ludhiana for more than 20 years now. He began his formal studies in R.S. Model Sr. Sec School, which is affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board. Later, during his career in the Ludhiana Police Service, he also obtained a master degree in Administration from Punjab University, Chandigarh. Moreover, his unceded interest in swimming earned him the title of National Swimmer during his school days. His great passion for swimming pushed him to participate 18 times in the swimming competition at National level and he won gold medals for six years without fail in Punjab swimming championship, including silver medals in National Swimming Competition.
After his trailblazing success at the school and college levels, Dilpreet Singh chose serving the people instead of going for one of the many fields that opened up for him based on his achievements in several activities. Inspector Dilpreet Singh joined the Ludhiana Police and soon rose to the rank of Inspector on the back of his diligence and commitment to the service. Amongst the highlights of Inspector Dilpreet Singh’s career were the two old murder cases that were almost forgotten but were solved by the police team under his guidance. For close to 3 years, the murder cases of Ram Dev and Rakesh Kumar lay dormant with little or no progress. But the special investigation team led by Inspector Dilpreet Singh found positive leads and brought the case to a conclusion, with the culprits being brought in for their crimes. Another case that stood out amongst the numerous solved by Inspector Dilpreet was the busting of the fake Army Job scam. A gang of criminals led by a former army-man was duping innocent youths into believing that they would get enlisted in the Indian Army in exchange for money, with the fees ranging between Rs. 40000 to Rs. 75000. The special investigation team led by Dilpreet Singh nabbed the accused and busted the racket.
Inspector Dilpreet Singh’s achievements with the Ludhiana Police do not end with the 2 cases mentioned above. On several instances he has led investigation teams in operations that resulted in capturing armed robbers, notorious thieves and conman, dangerous murderers and many other criminals. His efforts have contributed to making Ludhiana a safer place.
For his conscientious efforts, Inspector Dilpreet Singh has often been commended and honored by the department and the government. One such commendation came on 15th August 2006, when he, along with other team members, was honored for solving a double murder case of a local jeweler and his wife.
