Josh Ellis runs the website and he is also the leader of American Revolution 2.0 (AR2) he "runs a home-repair business"

"the owner of the mymilitia.com domain is Chad Embrey of New Lexington, Ohio."

Asked in a telephone conversation about whether he knew about Embrey or My Militia before the website was built, Ellis said, “Not really”, but having looked at the website, since added: “It definitely seems like a group that is pretty simple in their belief in just defending the second amendment.”

In an interview, Ellis claimed the site has 20,000 members and that there are 530 existing militias organized by ZIP code

Features of the site include a geo-locating fellow member map, voice chat, and photo galleries -> There's also a library of military manuals and the anarchist cookbook. Further, there is a forum section with discussions

Sincerity is hard to determine -> Per Vice "There’s clearly a range of intentions among the participants.
