Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Hi. Thank you for pointing out my username violation. I will be changing it shortly. - BMB

Edits to Burke Museum article

[edit]

Hi there! Thanks for fleshing out the article. I notice that some of the content appears to come directly from the Burke's website. This is OK if the Burke formally grants permission--otherwise, it may be considered a copyright violation and removed. Could you look into this, please? --Lukobe (talk) 19:27, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Followup

[edit]

BTW, as a UW alum (and I think I may have originally created this article, though I forget), I'm very glad to see the Burke staff interested in improving their own article on Wikipedia! I do hope the copy and username issues can be taken care of at some point, though--some editors are less tolerant than others, and I'd hate to see you guys dissuaded from contributing as it appears happened with the folks at HistoryLink. --Lukobe (talk) 19:29, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username

[edit]

Oh, and to clarify the other user's note above, I think it's technically a violation of policy to actually have the name of the museum in your username. I think something like 'bmblog' or 'burkemblog' or 'burkem' or 'burkemuse', etc., would be more acceptable...'bmblog' especially so since 'burke' doesn't form any part of it. Perhaps even something like 'memorialdrive' or '45thstreet', which is totally unrelated. --Lukobe (talk) 19:46, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
