Hello
[edit]I’m from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. As part of my role I’ve been asked to keep track of edits made to Wikipedia articles related to the Institute and Australian architecture. We’ve noticed your recent contributions, and there’s absolutely no issue—we’re just interested in being aware of ongoing updates that connect to our history and work. If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to know a little about you and your interest in these topics. Please feel free to use the inbuilt wikipedia email system to get in touch. Thanks! - Hi there AIAEducation,
- Well it all started when I was trying to find a comprehensive and up to date list of winners of the Melbourne Prize (Victoria Chapter), for some work related research at the time. I eventually pieced the full list together over 18 months from news articles, RAIA/AIA websites and individual architects websites. As I had found the information I decided to create the a page for that information, so anyone else who needed it could access it. And it's a good to place for me to find it too!
- Ongoing research into general public and enduring architecture content and awards lead me to compile other pages such as National Award for Enduring Architecture and the related state based awards. (full list on my sandbox page). I have kept awards pages up to date as they have been announced. Good to see the AIA is getting on to it. The level of information maintained or added to Wiki has been pretty low historically, and isn't particulary great across the industry. There are plenty of architecture stories and histories to be added to Wiki. I would love to get some historical information from the AIA at times, who is the best contact in this regard? I am doing my best to deliver neutral and accurate information as per the Wiki guidelines, but it would be great to get some factual correlation on occasion.
- I am an architect/urban designer/landscape architect based in Sydney, studied architecture in Adelaide.
- Regards
