User talk:DatGuy/Editnotice
If you're about to create a new section asking why I resized your image, you probably clicked on User talk:DatBot and were redirected here. Please read either of the following explanations:
Short explanation: One of DatBot's functions is to resize non-free images that are larger than 0.1 megapixels as to fit Wikipedia's policy. Long explanation: Images that are uploaded on individual Wikipedias rather than Commons are non-free. One of the criteria is 'minimal usage,' which in part includes that images should be rescaled as small as possible to still be useful as identified by their rationale, and no larger. Currently, that number stands at 100000 pixels, or 0.1 megapixels. If the resizing process itself made the image unusable, you can revert the change and add {{Non-free manual reduce}}. Otherwise, your best option is to find a free image or ask the copyright holder to release the image under a free license. See the free license and public domain images tutorial. The bot DOES NOT upload original images. If that's what you're looking for you're at the wrong place. |
