November 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw how you edited or created Common Phonetic Spelling, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Goldcrestpubl", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or have the appearance of shared use. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Shrigley (talk) 19:25, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shrigley, Thank you for pointing this out of me. I was not aware of the COI guidelines. Having read the guidelines and the various proviso's such as the self-published sources guidelines etc, I am still unclear as to what to do. I am connected with Goldcrest Publications, and I am the author of the works (i.e. the dictionaries) described. The Common Phonetic Spelling not has been cited in a third party publication. Being a published spelling system that uniquely encompasses Mandarin and Cantonese, I thought that this subject was worthy of description on Wikipedia. Given all these factors, I would be most grateful if you as an editor, or another bureaucrat could make a judgement call as whether to delete my contributions, or rename my account to something like "user201211". Thank you. Goldcrestpubl 21:15 22 November 2012

To request an account name change please do so at Changing username. Look at the bottom for "Simple". -- Alexf(talk) 12:54, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
