Unclean animals

[edit]

Hi, I say your edit over at Unclean animals and was wondering if you could give an example of a culture without any form of unclean animal? Pax:Vobiscum 20:58, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I could mention Atheism, where no food is restricted, because an Atheist is free of any rules and such (except if living in a country where such food is not allowed). In Norway, for example, no kind of animal is lawfully or culturally unclean.

In Norway no animal may be forbidden by law, but if you think about you have plenty of culturally unclean animals. If you had a dinner and served rats, snails and grasshoppers, wouldn't people go "Yuck, I'm not eating that disgusting food"? In other cultures, however, all three of them would be considered food. Even atheists think some animals are disgusting, for cultural reasons. Pax:Vobiscum 18:44, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
