Theoretical tube maps

[edit]

I saw your question at File:Northern Heights Map Mockup.png. There are two ways to make these: the best involves using a vector graphics editing program like Inkscape, the other way is using a bitmap editor such as Photoshop. The Northern Heights map was originally created by User:McDRye, so he could best explain the process. As the file is saved in a bitmap format the subsequent edits that I made involved laborious copying a pasting parts of the base image to make the changes and editing the image often pixel by pixel.

For example, File:Morden to Sutton Map Mockup.png was created purely as a bitmap by putting together bits of black line taken from this image for the route and individual cuttings of the bitmap versions of the letters to form the words. --DavidCane (talk) 19:34, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
