AfD nomination of Ping Zine Magazine
[edit]I have nominated Ping Zine Magazine, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ping Zine Magazine. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. —Caesura(t) 06:32, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Caesura, I have been over the possible deletion of this article with other editors. Finally, the submission for deletion was removed and the article was saved. There are many other magazine articles here on Wiki. If there is something I can add to the page to keep it saved and not be spam, please let me know with specific examples. Thanks. Ydboz
You will need to establish that the magazine meets our notability guidelines. This entails demonstrating that the magazine has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. An article in a respected, national newspaper on the topic of your magazine would probably do it. Or a few articles featuring your magazine in respected, local newspapers would probably do it. Anything short of that might be considered borderline.
If you can establish notability, you should update the article to reflect these sources, ideally following the style guidelines in Wikipedia:Citing sources, and let us know about it on the deletion nomination page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ping Zine Magazine.
It is true that many other articles about magazines exist on Wikipedia. But magazines like The New Yorker have established clear notability, being the topic of countless independent books and articles devoted to them. I'm sure you are right that there are other articles about magazines on Wikipedia that do not meet our notability guidelines. Feel free to nominate them for deletion. —Caesura(t) 17:38, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Caesura, thank you for the feedback. Will the following independent source qualify as a reputable/notability source?

I will dig further to find another source, if needed.
Thanks Ydboz
Speedy deletion of Ping Zine Magazine
[edit]A tag has been placed on Ping Zine Magazine, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
