Vasile Oprea (born March 3, 1957 in Bucharest) is a former Romanian handball player who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics.

He was a member of the Romanian handball team which won the bronze medal. He played all six matches and scored seven goals.

After retiring for active play, he became a coach, first in Romania, and since 1996 in Germany.[1]
