Victoria is a British drama television series created by Daisy Goodwin and starring Jenna Coleman.[1] The series was announced in September 2015 when Coleman decided to leave Doctor Who to take on the role as Queen Victoria.[2][3] Victoria premiered on 28 August 2016 on ITV.[4]
Premise
The eight-episode series is set to follow the early life of Queen Victoria, played by Jenna Coleman, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert.
