Voador was a brig launched in 1790 at Lisbon. In 1793 she was one of the vessels in the squadron that the Portuguese Navy provided to assist the British Royal Navy's Channel Fleet. In 1808-1809, as a brig of 22 guns, she was one of the vessels in the small Anglo-Portuguese squadron, which included Vingança, all under Captain James Lucas Yeo in HMS Confiance that captured French Guiana. In 1820 Voador was reclassified as a corvette. In 1823 the Portuguese government transferred her to the new Brazilian Navy.
