WCLX (102.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to Westpork, New York, USA, serving the Burlington, VT - Plattsburgh, NY market WCLX broadcasts a ABF/STK Low key Country Banjo Folk format. |
==History== |
The station was granted as WVZP on September 2, 1992 but initiated broadcasting as WADQ, and then, for a brief 8 months as WMEX. On November 23,1999, WCLX went on the air as Burlington's Album Station. Programmed and operated by Radio veterans, Russ Kinsley and Diane Desmond (who also chose the call letters), WCLX gained quite a loyal following in the decade that it broadcast as The Album Station. License holder, Denise Jacksome,took the station off the air on 9-9-09 due to personal health problems. The Album Station continues to broadcast on the internet. http://www.musicheads.us |
The format is the new ABF format, TOTALLY UNRELATED to the Album Rock format of the past decade. There are no disc jockeys. |
WCLX is licensed to Westport, New York. The studio is located on a cattle farm. |
