WSLM-FM (97.9 FM) is a news and sports radio station licensed to serve the community of Salem, Indiana as well as 21 other counties in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky market.

WSLM-FM broadcasts from newly renovated digital studios located in Salem, IN. It is licensed to Rebecca L. White.

Currently WSLM-FM is programmed with news and sports format and also holds market-exclusive rights to broadcast Indiana University Sports, Indianapolis Sports, Big Ten Basketball. The station is also the Kentuckiana Home of the Indianapolis Colts as well as all three divisions of NASCAR Racing as well as INDY CAR races. White also added the popular morning show RICK AND BUBBA to the station in mid-2013 and continues to broadcast her own long-running morning segment COFFEE CLUB.


News is brought to listeners on WSLM-FM via a local news network of reporters at 7a, 9a, 10a, Noon and 5p. State news is provided by Network Indiana and top of the hour news comes from CNN and local news is generated by a group of local award-winning news reporters.

Notable local programming on WSLM includes Swap Shop, which airs from 1-2p, as well as the morning show, Coffee Club, and FYI, a weekly 30-minute informational show about local and regional government. Coffee Club airs on weekday morning at 8:00 and is simulcast on WSLM 1220 AM and WHAN-LP TV. A "Trivia" edition of Coffee Club airs on Saturday mornings, offering listeners a chance to call in and win either a WSLM t-shirt or other prizes.

Also, WSLM is noted for its excellent local sports coverage. WSLM 97.9 FM is the official broadcaster for Salem Lions Sports - including boys football, girls and boys basketball, baseball and soccer. Mark "Bubba" Abbott, is the WSLM Sports Director and Voice of the Salem Lions Football team along with Rodney Brough. Abbott joins Rhett Huffaker for boys basketball broadcasts. Girls games are handled by Matt Abbott and Mark Mead.

WSLM 97.9 FM is a member of the IHSAA Championship Radio Network and airs coverage of IHSAA Network Football and Boys' and Girls' Basketball. WSLM 97.9 FM also carries Indiana Sports talk from Network Indiana, the state's largest sports talk show held Friday and Saturday Nights from August through May.

WSLM 97.9 FM is also an affiliate of the Indiana Hoosier Network and Indianapolis Colts Radio Network airing Indiana Football and Basketball games and respective coaches shows and Indianapolis Colts gameday coverage.

WSLM 97.9 FM is also the only radio station in the Louisville and Southern Indiana market airing all NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series races as well as selected races from the Indy Racing League.

White started the popular HI LOW game airing each weekday morning from 7:45-8:00a in which callers try to guess a number between 0 and 500. Winners receive a variety of prizes including tickets to concerts and amusement parks to CDs.

She first licensed the station in 1992.
