Wayne (Kyle) Spitzer (born July 15, 1966) is an American author and low-budget horror filmmaker [1] from Spokane, Washington. He is the writer/director of the short horror film, Shadows in the Garden[2], as well as the author of Flashback [3], an SF/horror novel published in 1993. Spitzer's non-genre writing has appeared in subTerrain Magazine as "Strong Words for a Polite Nation" [4],[5], [6], [7], and Columbia: The Magazine of Northwest History [8].

Spitzer was highly active in Spokane's underground filmmaking scene from 1994 – 2005. [9]. Notable projects include Dead of Night [10], a Spokane area (cable TV) broadcast venture[1][2](as well as Don't Look Up[2]), and a feature-length compilation, Monstersdotcom,[3] including Shadows in the Garden [11] and Last Stop Station [12].

Spitzer has taught creative writing at Corbin Art Center [13] and Airway Heights Corrections Center [14]. He currently lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
