The '''West Coast Line''' is a [[railway]] serving the west coast of [[Malaysia]]. The line links [[Padang Besar]] on the [[Malaysia–Thailand border]] in [[Perlis]]. There, it connects with the [[State Railway of Thailand]] to [[Singapore]] via [[Butterworth, Penang]] for connections to [[Penang]] and the capital of [[Kuala Lumpur]].

==History==

The first railway line in [[British Malaya|Malaya]] linking [[Taiping, Perak|Taiping]] to [[Port Weld]] was opened officially on 1 June 1885.
