The Communication and Information Technology Commission in Saudi Arabia enforces Internet censorship. There are no strict criteria for censorship and no clear mechanism of objecting to censorship. Some Wikipedia articles have been censored under this system. Many of the censored articles are related to sex education, eroticism and pornography, although two Arabic Wikipedia articles on a scientific topic are known to be censored. Below is an inconclusive list of known censored articles in Saudi Arabia in alphabetical order.
Efficiency of censorship
The CITC seems to censor URLs using a string-based case-insensitive mechanism, which allows users to bypass censorship and gain access to censored pages by entering alternative URLs (such as redirects) or by using a secure connection (https) when connecting to Wikipedia.
