Wikipedia:WikiProject Occupational Safety and Health/NORA article improvement drive

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The goal of this drive is to ensure that all Wikipedia articles relevant to NIOSH's NORA sectors have information that is complete, up to date, and free of errors. Wikipedia article on workplace health and safety topics should have the following information:

  • Hazards. What are the main hazards, diseases, and injuries that arise from work in this sector? How prevalent are they?
  • Hazard controls. What are the main hazard controls for this sector? It sometimes helps to organize this according to the hierarchy of hazard controls.
  • Exposure assessment and regulations. What methods and tools are used for exposure assessments? What surveillance mechanisms are there? What regulations and standards are there, both in the United States and other countries?

A good initial goal is to have at least one paragraph about each bullet point, although more can certainly be written. This does not have to be done all at once though; for existing articles, small improvements such as adding even a single sentence with a citation can be very impactful.

The table below shows the main articles or sections for each NORA sector. Articles in italics have no safety/health information (for sector articles), or no occupational information (for cross-sector articles).
