Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical music/Contemporary music task force/Style guidelines

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Contemporary music task force follows these guidelines (alongside the main MOS):

Sourcing and citation

[edit]

Sourcing is often particularly challenging for the period this task force covers since contemporary composers, compositions, productions, and so on, are not often noticed by the popular media and are often overlooked by other major authorities; unsourced articles are often quickly challenged, especially if they are biographies of living persons. Wikipedia:Citing sources gives advice on how to cite sources and Wikipedia:Reliable sources explains how to find sources and use them. Also relevant is Wikipedia:Notability (music) which gives specific advice on establishing the notability of music-related items.
