Role of coordinators

[edit]

Traditionally, ESC coordinators:

  1. Look after the routine administrative jobs, preferably on a daily basis.
  2. Contribute promptly to projects discussions:
    (i) on the coordinators' talk page, so consensus can be quickly reached;
    (ii) on the main talk page; and
    (iii) on the coordinator's adopted task force talk pages.
  3. Help administer, and provide back-up support for, any special projects (drives, etc.).
  4. Try to informally resolve conflicts (especially long-running ones or disputes affecting many articles).

Although some coordinators are also administrators, coordinators:

(i) do not require sysop tools for any of their responsibilities; and
(ii) do not become involved in article protection and the like.

These tasks can be time-consuming, especially when other coordinators are busy in real-life, and sometimes stressful. Coordinators should be prepared to prioritize coordination over other wiki-activities.

ACRs for closure

[edit]

All A-Class reviews are eligible for closure 28 days after they were opened, or 5 days if there is a clear consensus for either the promotion or non-promotion of the article under review. Any A-Class review filed on or before 1 October may be closed by an uninvolved coordinator. A guide to closing A-Class reviews is available. Please wait 24 hours after a review is listed here before closing it to allow time for last-minute reviews.
