William Llewellyn (painter)

Sir (Samuel Henry) William Llewellyn GCVO PRA (1858–1941) was a notable English painter of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and served as President of the Royal Academy from 1928 to 1938.[citation needed] Awarded the Albert Medal (Royal Society of Arts) in 1933.
Llewellyn has 67 paintings in British national collections, including a portrait of industrialist and philanthropist Sir Alexander Grant held by the University of Edinburgh.[1]
