Chart performance

"Wings" made its first chart appearance in Ireland on 30 August 2012, where it debuted at number one.[1] It became the Little Mix's second consecutive number-one single in Ireland.[2] The single also debuted at number one in the United Kingdom on 8 September 2012, with over 107,000 copies sold,[3] giving the group their second consecutive number one single in the country and also becoming the fastest-selling single by a group for 2012.[4] The song remained atop the chart for one week before being deposed of the top spot by Ne-Yo's "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)".[5] The group commented upon their satisfaction with the song's performance in the UK, saying: "It means a lot because obviously we got number one at Christmas with 'Cannonball,' but that wasn't our song really, so now that we've become number one with our own song that we wrote, we're so proud, best feeling ever."[3] It has since spent a total of 19 weeks on the chart.[6] As of 2 January 2013, "Wings" has sold 397,000 copies in the United Kingdom and was the 40th best-selling single of 2012 in the country. [7]

"Wings" entered the New Zealand Singles Chart at number 17 on 15 October 2012, giving Little Mix their first top 20 single in the country. After three weeks in the top 20 of the chart, the song climbed from number 17 to 15, marking a new peak for the song.[8] "Wings" has received a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand, denoting sales of 7,500 copies.[9] "Wings" debuted at number 34 on the Australian Singles Chart on 28 October 2012, becoming the group's first single to chart in Australia. After four weeks of climbing the chart, it gained a new peak of number three on 18 November 2012.[10] The song has been certified double platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association, denoting sales of 140,000 copies.[11]. "Wings" marks the first single by a British girl group to reach the top three in Australia since Sugababes "Push the Button" (2005), as well as the first single by a British girl group to achieve double platinum status in Australia since All Saints "Never Ever" (1998).[12]

In mainland Europe, "Wings" has reached the top 40 in Hungary and Slovakia, peaking at numbers 22 and 26 respectively.[13][14] While in the Czech Republic it peaked at number 91.[15] "Wings" has also charted in North America, peaking at number 71 on the Canadian Hot 100,[16] number 30 on U.S. Pop Songs,[17] and number five on U.S. Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles.[18]
