Isabella Winkie Direko (27 November 1929 – 17 February 2012) was a South African politician (ANC).

Direko was born in 1929 in Bloemfontein. Before entering politics, she was a teacher. She was a member of the National Council of Provinces from 1994 to 1999 and Premier of the Free State from 15 June 1999 until 26 April 2004.

Direko died on 17 February 2012 after suffering a stroke. She was 82.[1]
