Yamaha XT550

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by John B123 (talk | contribs) at 17:23, 30 June 2018 (External links: Changed sort for Category:Yamaha motorcycles). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Produced in Japan by the Yamaha Motor Company for two years only, 1982 and 1983, the Yamaha XT 550 has now reached mythological status in countries like Italy and Greece. Thanks to a ground-breaking tank design, single over-head four valves camshafts, monoshock rear suspension and first on a motorcycle two-stage YDIS intake system, the queen of dual-purpose could hit 95 mph (152 km/h) in full comfort. Compared to its predecessors XT/TT/SR 500, the XT 550 engine is a replacement rather than a descendant.
