Yamashiro province (山城国; -no kuni) was a province of Japan, which today composes the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture on Honshū.

Including Kyoto itself, since 794 Yamashiro was the seat of the imperial court, and, during the Muromachi period, the seat of the Ashikaga shogunate as well.
