C. Keith Wood, Jr. C. Keith Wood, Jr, commonly referred to as Keith Wood, (born 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia) is a lawyer and air display pilot based in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Growing up in the mill town of West Point, Georgia, Keith excelled in high school football and graduated with honors from Georgia State University in 1984.
Immediately after graduating from high school in 1976, Keith obtained his private pilot’s license and by 1981 had added his commercial, instrument and multi-engine ratings. In 1979 he went to work for Eastern Airlines, then on to Air Atlanta, the United States’ first minority owned airline.
After the demise of Air Atlanta in 1987, Keith went into law enforcement, working in the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office under District Attorney Bob Keller, serving as lead investigator in such notable Atlanta area cases as the Douglas Overstreet and Lamar Jeffcoat murder cases.
In 1995, Keith entered John Marshall Law and upon graduating entered the private practice of law in 1997.
After establishing a law practice in Atlanta, Keith turned back to flying, and joined the Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force in 1998. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF), is a Texas based non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historical aircraft at air shows throughout the U. S. and Canada. The Dixie Wing is one of the CAF’s largest detachments, and is located at Falcon Field Airport in Peachtree City, Georgia.
In 2004, Keith, along with friends Alan Armstrong and Joe Broker, purchased a replica Japanese “Kate” Torpedo Bomber that had been built for the movie Tora! Tora! Tora! and began flying the air show circuit in the southeastern United States.

Keith now flies the CAF’s extremely rare Douglas SBD-5 Dive Bomber, notable for it’s role in the Battle of Midway and the North American P51 Mustang, the fighter that turned the tide of war for the Allies in World War II. Keith continues in his law practice and serves as legal officer and executive officer for the CAF’s Dixie Wing in Peachtree City.
