SSM2007 screenshots
[edit]Hi Nagy, Regarding the CC-SA-3 on the following Images:
- File:SSM2007-KSC-PAD.jpg
- File:SSM2007-breaking_the_sound_barrier.jpg
- File:SSM2007-STS-51A-For_sale.jpg
- File:SSM2007-STS-31.jpg
- File:SSM2007-KSC-Landing.jpg
- File:SSM2007-STS-98.jpg
I have no experience in this, but after digging in a bit I've modified the license to "Non-free game screenshot"
would this be enough? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uri ba (talk • contribs) 13:28, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi there, I've done some minor modifications to the description pages (added {{reduce}} etc.). The problem should be solved for now. Regards, →Nagy 13:42, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, But I still don't understand, the new tag you have added clearly states that the image would be deleted in 7 days unless it is reduced in size. where is the max dimensions allowed are specified? found nothing under non-free, Image use or under copyrights. Can you please point me to the correct document? I have permission from the company who makes the game, but fair-use seemed to be a "easy way out" - guess not.. →Uri ba (talk) 14:03, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- forgot to mention - the images are reduced to Internet forum "standard" size (contained within 850 by 580 pixel box). →Uri ba (talk) 14:12, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- A permission to use an image just on Wikipedia is not sufficient per WP:LICENSE, so there is no other possibility than fair-use to keep the files at the moment.
- There is no deadline for resizing the images, the tag is rather a piece of advice. I also didn't find a guideline for desirable resolutions, but I assume something like 300 pixels in width would be preferable. Regards, →Nagy 14:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Done some more digging, according to Defining "low resolution" an acceptable size would be one that does not require wiki engine to reduce image size at the image preview page - which means up to 800*500. all but two images File:SSM2007-KSC-PAD.jpg and File:SSM2007-breaking_the_sound_barrier.jpg qualify under those terms. In addition I have found that the game developers have added a comment to each of the images. I think that all of those images has been proven to not breach any copyright. I'm updating the "reduced" template on all images that comply with the wiki guideline mentioned above. 10x for the help :) →Uri ba (talk) 15:00, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
