William H. Seward[edit]

Voting period is over. Please don't add any new votes. Voting period ends on 24 Oct 2014 at 04:21:34 (UTC)

OriginalWilliam H. Seward, opponent of slavery, United States Secretary of State during the American Civil War and after, and the purchaser of "Seward's Folly", better known today as Alaska. And better known as that at the time, apparently. Curse you, myths taught in school.
Not for voting: "Before" image. Have a look at the hair if you want a good example of the cleanup. So many little specks everywhere....
Reason
Part of my Operations Brothers at War / Signpost work; this is the lead image for a featured article that passed last week, which I agreed to restore. It took a while.
Articles in which this image appears
William H. Seward. Could probably go elsewhere, but this image was found in the peer review before the FA, and restored and all that quite recently, so it'll probably take a while to get everywhere.

  • Support – good and painstaking cleanup, which has removed the dirt but left the dandruff on his coat. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 06:33, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Is THAT what the hell it is? It was obviously part of the original photo, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Adam Cuerden (talk) 06:54, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
