Christine Oates, Theatrical Costume Designer, New York

Christine Oates (nee Edson) was born April 6, 1961, in Syracuse, New York and grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. She moved to New York City in 1980, and attended New York University, studying theater arts. She worked for Lincoln Center's Library of Performing Arts until 1985. In 1984 she met and married husband, Frank Warenn and began a career as a Marilyn Monroe Impersonator. She appeared as Marilyn Monroe on "Good Morning America" (singing Happy Birthday to the husband of Joan Lunden); "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee"; "The Joe Franklin Show" and did live shows in Atlantic City at Trump Plaza.

In the 1990's she became more known for her replica costumes. She costumed other famous impersonators such as Suzie Kennedy and Camille Terry. Christine worked for Walt Disney Theatrical Productions from 1994 to 2000, on the productions Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.

She currently lives on The Wirral,England with the new partner in her life, musician Alan Ewing.
