Roland J Young

Roland is an Systems Engineer currently working for the NHS in the North East of England.

He has worked for Newcastle Building Society, Artifax Software, BBC World Service and Remploy Ltd. He began his career at Remploy Ltd, working in the North East of England, before moving to their London Head Office, where he led the company's PC revolution in the early 90's.

Joining the BBC in 1995, his role included, supporting web sites, networks, business systems, desktop (PC and Mac), the development of web sites, and the planning, co-supervising IT projects. He was an instrumental part of the BBC World Service ENPS Project Team, who implemented the worlds biggest newsroom system, in London and across the world.

Roland hails from Tynemouth in the North East of England is a keen runner, cyclist, loves to travel, loves the american sitcom Friends and enjoys rocking to KISS on his iPod.
