Citations on "Dave Albo" Entry[edit]

Please don't make additions to the Dave Albo article that lack citations to demonstrate their veracity. In your most recent modification you wrote:

Albo countered by pointing out that laws which increase punishments lower the number of offenses, and therefore he would not benefit.

Your citations for this was a 2004 paper by Steven D. Levitt about the economics of crime, which does nothing to prove that the subject of the article actually made that claim. This might seem alien to you, but the standard on Wikipedia is that everything must be verifiable to the reader and that no original research is permissible. So while you might be the subject of this article (a fact that cannot be verified by readers of the article, even those knowledgeable enough to read through the entry's edit history), the fact that you say that you believe something is meaningless unless that belief has been quoted or described in "reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy."

Note, too, that your modifications to the entry about you are in violation of Wikipedia's autobiography standards, which specify, in great detail, that basically none of what you're doing here is permitted. It is only a matter of time until an administrator notices this (which happens automatically in the case of edits to entries by people sharing a name with the entry) and simply blocks you from making any further edits to this entry. I encourage you to refrain from making modifications to the Dave Albo entry that are in violation of Wikipedia's standards, in order to prevent this from happening. --WaldoJ (talk) 18:38, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I ask that you please stop making additions that lack citations such as, again, your "Albo countered" claim that lacks any supporting that the subject of the article ever made such a claim. Likewise, you said that the governor cited DMV opposition to collecting out of state fees, but no evidence was provided to support this. Your ongoing modifications to this entry, all of which would appear to favor you, continue to (apparently) violate WP:AB, and I must again encourage to refrain making modifications to the Dave Albo entry. The next step is going to be a formal proposal that you be blocked from making any further modifications to this entry, but I imagine everybody would be happier avoiding that process. --WaldoJ (talk) 22:34, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --WaldoJ (talk) 22:39, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
