If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Singapore International Water Week, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Hi there

I hope you're not feeling too flustered by the few comments I've left on your talk page so far. There are a few issues to be dealt with. Let me put it to you simply:

  • From your edits and your username, you appear to be working for or on behalf of PUB. Do take a moment to note the conflict of interest guidelines.
  • Your username is not appropriate in view of our username policy. Do take a moment to review, and request a change at WP:UNC.
  • WP is not a platform for public relations; the goal is to write an encyclopedia. Wholesale copying of your (presumably) websites like http://www.siww.com.sg/ violates copyright. Furthermore, the tone is promotional, and not suitable for a neutral, encyclopedic article. See WP:NPOV This applies for NEWater and Public Utilities Board as well.

Do take a moment to consider these issues. If you need help, you can contact me on my talk page, or you can place {{helpme}} here and someone will be over shortly. Happy editing. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 18:58, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
