Overview

American Home Shield founded the home warranty industry in 1971, and is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee.[5][6] It also administers service centers in Memphis, Tennessee, LaGrange, Georgia and Carroll, Iowa, which clients can call to request appliance or system service.[1] The company handles roughly 2.5 million service requests each year.[7] The company works with over 11,000 licensed contractors and 45,000 technicians in the U.S., and it monitors contractor performance through a customer satisfaction survey program.[7] The company is a founding and current member of the National Home Service Contract Association (NHSCA), a non-profit 501(c)(6) industry trade organization of member companies serving home service contract providers and consumer interests throughout the United States.
