9973 Szpilman (pronounced: Shpilman) is a main belt asteroid. It orbits the Sun once every 4.03 years.[1]

Discovered on July 12, 1993 by E. W. Elst working at the European Southern Observatory, it was given the provisional designation 1993 NB2. It was later renamed "Szpilman" after Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Polish-Jewish pianist and Holocaust survivor.[2]
