Alpha Academy are an American professional wrestling tag team composed of Chad Gable and Otis. They are signed to WWE and perform on the Raw brand.[1] The pair are longtime best friends in real life, with their friendship dating back to 2011, where they trained for the Olympics together in Colorado Springs. The two are now neighbors on the same street.[2]
History
Formation and SmackDown Tag Team championship pursuits (2020-2021)
Chad Gable and Otis were first paired together in December 2020 following Otis's split from Tucker and the dissolution of Heavy Machinery.[3] The team made their debut on December 11, 2020 in a defeat to the team of Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown.[4]They went on to lose in most of their matches, but won a couple of them . They would eventually turn heel in February 2021 after attacking the Mysterios after a match. The team would eventually become no.1 contenders for the SmackDown Tag team Championship and would feud with The Usos in 2021 but were unsuccessful. They moved to Raw as part of WWE Draft 2021.
Raw Tag Team Champions (2021-2022)
Alpha Academy became WWE Raw Tag Team Champions on January 10, 2022 by defeating RK-Bro on Raw from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[5] They would both enter in the Royal Rumble match. After a brief feud with RK-Bro and Seth Rollins - Kevin Owens, on March 7, 2022, RK-Bro defeated Alpha Academy to regain the titles in a three-team match which also featured the team of Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.[6] They would get their rematch at WrestleMania 38 but were unsuccessful.
Various Storylines(2022-present)
They would then aid Kevin Owens in his feud against Ezekiel. They would then start a feud with Braun Strowman, but would lose to him several times.
