Antonio Hidalgo Morilla (born February 8, 1979 in Granollers, Barcelona, Catalonia) is a Spanish footballer currently playing for Albacete Balompié, mainly as an attacking midfielder.

[edit] Football career

After starting professionally with FC Barcelona's reserve side, Hidalgo went on to represent CD Tenerife for five seasons (after being an important element during the side's 2001 promotion, he played ten matches in the following season's first division).

Hidalgo moved to Málaga CF in 2005, as the Andalusia side was eventually relegated (as last), with Hidalgo as an important offensive player. In June 15, 2008, he scored two goals in a 2–1 victory over former side Tenerife, granting Málaga's topflight promotion after a two-year absence, at the expense of Real Sociedad. He finished the season with 14 league goals, best in the squad.

However, Hidalgo would stay in the second level, signing for Real Zaragoza. In late January 2009, he joined CA Osasuna, on loan until the end of the season.

Upon his return to Zaragoza, Hidalgo was deemed surplus to requirements; in the dying minutes of the August 2009 transfer window, he arranged a 1+1 deal with Albacete Balompié, in the second level.
